Lai House is located in Bungkawn, Aizawl. The Lai House Old Building was built in 1989 and was previously only maintained by support staff. The Office of Liaison Officer has been maintained since 1994, and the New Building (Annexed) was finished on September 16th, 2019. From 1994 to 2018, Lai House was supervised by the Liaison Officer. It has been under the Deputy Resident Commissioner's authority since 2019.
After purchasing land, the Lai Autonomous District Council (LADC) constructed the Lai House buildings. It can now accommodate 100 people. So, the Lai House became the main source of revenue for Lai Autonomous District Council.
The Lai Autonomous District Council and is intended to serve the residents of Lawngtlai District. People from outside the district are sometimes present, depending on the availability of room.
