Lawngtlai, May 21, 2026: Chairman of LADC, Pu C. Lalmuanthanga, today attended as chief guest the PM Surya Ghar: Muft Bijli Yojana Awareness Campaign organized by the Power & Electricity Department, Lawngtlai, at the LADC Conference Hall.
In his address, Pu C. Lalmuanthanga stated that as the world continues to advance, electricity has become one of the most essential requirements of modern life. He pointed out that the use of fossil fuels and hydroelectric resources for power generation has significant impacts on the environment, while the demand for electricity is steadily increasing. In this context, he said that generating electricity through solar energy has become a major priority both globally and for the Government of India. He added that the awareness programme was organized to further educate the public on this important initiative.
He also urged the gathering to make full and proper use of the PM Surya Ghar: Muft Bijli Yojana, a flagship initiative of the Government of India.
The awareness programme was organized by the Lawngtlai Power Sub-Division. During the programme, Er. VLMS Dawngliana Sailo, SDO, Lawngtlai Power Sub-Division, delivered an informative presentation on the PM Surya Ghar: Muft Bijli Yojana and Rooftop Solar scheme.
