In his address, Pu C. Lalsawmzuala expressed happiness that the Southern Cooperators Meet could be organised for the first time. He thanked everyone who contributed their thoughts, efforts, and hard work in making the event possible. Referring to the gathering’s guiding principle, “Unity is Strength,” he emphasized that unity, mutual respect, and trust among society members are the strongest foundations for the progress of cooperative societies. He also encouraged greater cooperation among societies so they could become a blessing to others.
He further stated that the forefathers of the Mizo people were self-reliant and hardworking, and urged the younger generation to uphold the same spirit and determination in striving for progress and development.
The morning session was chaired by Pu Joseph Lalhmingthanga Chinzah, DRCS, LADC. Welcome speeches were delivered by Pu K. Darlawma, President of Lunglei District Cooperative, and Pu K. Lalruatfela, CEO of the Mizoram State Co-operative Union.

During the meet, the following resolutions were passed:
1. The Southern Cooperators Meet should be held annually, with the Organising Committee deciding the host location each year.
