Lawngtlai, July 2, 2026: Acting on the decision of the recent Executive Committee Meeting, the Deputy Chief Executive Member of the Lai Autonomous District Council (LADC), Pu Sanghuliana Mualchin, today inspected the Residential School Building at College Veng, which has been identified as the proposed temporary office for relocating certain LADC departments.
The Executive Committee had resolved that, due to the deteriorating condition of the LADC Executive Secretariat Building, the offices should be relocated in phases. As an initial step, the Residential School Building at College Veng was proposed for use after carrying out the necessary renovations.
During the inspection, Pu Sanghuliana Mualchin stated that the relocation process requires careful planning and systematic implementation. He noted that it would not be possible to shift all offices at once and emphasized the need for thorough consideration before carrying out the relocation.
Executive Secretary Pu K. Lalthanzara briefed the team on the condition of the building and the plans prepared so far. He stressed the importance of assessing the availability of rooms, the staff strength of each department, and their respective office space requirements. He also pointed out that the building's capacity and suitability must be clearly determined. Following the inspection, it was decided that the PWD, LADC, would identify the rooms requiring modification and prepare the necessary renovation plan. The departments to be relocated and the schedule for relocation will be finalized after further deliberation.
