Lawngtlai, May 15, 2026: Pu Sanghuliana Mualchin, Deputy Chief Executive Member of Lai Autonomous District Council and in-charge of Primary Education, continued his inspection tour of schools in the northeastern area today and visited ten primary schools.
The schools visited were:
Sangau-I Primary School I & II
Sangau-II Primary School I & II
Sangau-III Primary School
Pangkhua Primary School I & II
Sentetfiang Primary School
Thaltlang Primary School
During the visits, he interacted warmly with teachers and students and spent quality time with them.
Pu Sanghuliana said that in earlier times the teaching profession was highly respected and teachers were greatly honored by society because they produced many capable and educated individuals. He stated that although the profession continues to remain respectable and many knowledgeable people are still being produced, there is now a need for teachers to reflect upon themselves so that the dignity of the profession may continue to be maintained.
He emphasized that teachers bear a great responsibility because parents entrust their children into their care every day. Since the future of the state lies in the hands of teachers, he urged them to fully cooperate with the present government and contribute to the best of their abilities.
He also encouraged teachers to maintain good cooperation with Village Councils and NGOs without involving party politics so that educational progress may continue in every locality. He added that united effort is extremely important for the advancement of education in society.
He further advised teachers to be careful in their conduct and appearance, not only within schools but also in their daily lives, and to always strive to be role models for others. He cautioned against unnecessary involvement in political matters, saying that becoming involved in areas beyond one’s responsibility often diminishes the dignity and respect attached to the teaching profession.
Pu Lalnunzawmpuia, Dy. EEO (Primary School), LADC, accompanied him throughout the visits. Local community leaders also extended warm support and cooperation during the programme.
