Lawngtlai, April 23, 2026:Today, Pu Joseph Lalhmingthanga Chinzah, Deputy Registrar of Cooperative Societies (DRCS), LADC, chaired an important meeting at his office to discuss the arrangements for organizing a Cooperative Societies Conference for the southern region.

The meeting was attended by official representatives from the Lunglei DRCS Office and CADC Office. In addition, leaders of the Cooperative Union from Lunglei District and representatives of Cooperative Societies from Lawngtlai District were also present.

During the meeting, emphasis was laid on the need for stronger cooperation and unity among Cooperative Societies, particularly in the southern areas, to ensure greater progress and development. It was resolved that a “Cooperative Conference” covering the southern districts should be organized.

Key decisions regarding the conference:

Venue: Lawngtlai Town (for the first session)

Time: Within May 2026

Participants: Leaders and members of Cooperative Societies from the southern region, with efforts to ensure maximum participation

It is hoped that this conference will strengthen the Cooperative Movement in the southern region and foster new collaboration among various Cooperative Societies.
