Lawngtlai, June 18, 2026: This afternoon, the Executive Member of the Lai Autonomous District Council (LADC) in charge of the Disaster Management Department, Pu C. Hrangthianga, presented financial assistance of Rs. 40,000 (Forty Thousand) to Pu Ainehliana of Chandmari, Lawngtlai, whose house was destroyed by a fire that broke out on the night of May 5, 2026.

While handing over the assistance, Pu C. Hrangthianga expressed his sympathy and sorrow over the loss suffered by Pu Ainehliana. He stated that the Council wished to provide assistance as quickly as possible; however, due to established government financial procedures and regulations, immediate disbursement is not always feasible. He requested understanding in this regard. He further acknowledged that fire accidents often cause losses worth several lakhs of rupees and said that although the amount being provided may not fully compensate for the damage incurred, the LADC Government was extending the assistance as a gesture of solidarity and support. On behalf of the LADC Government, he therefore handed over Rs. 40,000 to the victim.

In his response, Pu Ainehliana expressed his gratitude to the LADC Government for providing assistance following the fire incident. He also thanked the residents of the locality and many other well-wishers who had extended support and assistance during this difficult time.
