Lawngtlai, September 25, 2026: This afternoon, Executive Member of the Lai Autonomous District Council (LADC), Pu C. Hrangthianga, who is in charge of the Disaster Management and Rehabilitation (DM&R) Department, visited the homes of families affected by a disaster in Lawngtlai College Veng and handed over assistance to them.

Pu C. Hrangthianga stated that the LADC Government deeply sympathises with the families affected by the disaster. However, he explained that the Council has limited capacity to provide assistance as desired. He added that certain necessary procedures and formalities must be completed before the government can take action, which sometimes causes delays. He appealed to the affected families to understand the circumstances.

On behalf of the LADC Government, Pu C. Hrangthianga handed over the assistance to the following beneficiaries through the Disaster Management and Rehabilitation Department:

1. A. Zairemmawia, aged 42, son of Late A. Dengthuama, Lawngtlai College Veng.

2. Ruby Lalrinsiami, aged 6, daughter of B. Lalbawiliana, Lawngtlai College Veng.
