Lawngtlai, June 17, 2026 The Executive Member of the Lai Autonomous District Council (LADC) in charge of the Sports Department, Pu C. Hrangthianga, invited the recent Arm Wrestling and Boxing medal winners to his office today for a meeting and interaction.

During the meeting, Pu C. Hrangthianga congratulated the athletes for their outstanding achievements at the National Arm Wrestling Championship held in Gujarat and the MSSC Mizoram Inter-District Championship 2026 held in Aizawl. He encouraged them to continue preparing diligently for future competitions.He stated, “We may not be able to provide everything you need, but we will do our best to support your most important requirements. Our boxers have also been producing commendable results consistently, and we will look into the challenges you face in your training facilities and try to address them.”

He further highlighted that sports can serve as a significant source of livelihood and career opportunities. Many sportspersons have attained important positions in government services, and students can also benefit from sports achievements through admissions to schools and colleges based on their sports certificates.

National Arm Wrestling Championship, Gujarat (May 29 – June 1, 2026)

The following athletes from Lawngtlai achieved notable success:

T. Lalchhuanpuia – Gold Medal (55 kg)

Joshua C. Lalrindika – Gold Medal (65 kg)

Vanlalduata – Bronze Medal (75 kg)

MSSC Mizoram Inter-District Championship 2026, Aizawl (June 9–12, 2026)

Seven boxers from SYS Boxing Academy, LADC participated in the championship. Four of them won medals:

Manasseh Lalpekhlua – Gold Medal, Sub-Junior Boys (52–55 kg)

Bethsabi Lalrotluangi – Gold Medal, Junior Girls (52–54 kg)

Chhunhneihkilo – Silver Medal, Sub-Junior Girls (52–55 kg)

James Lalmalsawma – Bronze Medal, Junior Boys (50–52 kg)

The athletes were trained under the guidance of Pu T.C. Lalramchullova, Coach.
