PR No. 48/2026–2027
Lawngtlai, May 15, 2026: Yesterday, from 10:00 AM to 4:00 PM, H. Vanlaltanpuia, Executive Member in-charge of Middle Schools under the Lai Autonomous District Council, visited Green Hill Middle School, Govt. Paithar Middle School, B. Sangchema Memorial Middle School and Govt. Rulkual Middle School. He was accompanied by three staff members from the Middle School Department office.
During the visits, interactive and productive meetings were held with the teachers. B. Lalhnuna, Elementary Education Officer (M/S), LADC chaired the meetings and advised the teachers on several important matters, including preparing proper lesson plans to improve the quality of education, maintaining cleanliness within school campuses and surrounding areas, wearing Lai traditional dress every Monday, and regularly submitting monthly reports. He also urged teachers to carefully follow official notifications issued by the office and to continue educating students about fire safety and precautionary measures.
Addressing the gatherings, EM Pu H. Vanlaltanpuia emphasized that for educational institutions to progress, it is essential for teachers to arrive at school on time and teach with dedication, sincerity, and competence. He also stressed the importance of maintaining neatness and cleanliness in personal appearance.
He further stated that excessive involvement in church activities, community work, and social events—whether during happy or difficult times—should not interfere with the responsibility of educating children. He encouraged teachers to prioritize their profession and livelihood responsibilities above all else.
Pu H. Vanlaltanpuia remarked that teachers may not always have material gifts to offer, but they possess the ability to transform minds and shape the thinking and future of students through their knowledge and wisdom. He described the teaching profession as a highly noble and honorable calling, comparable to missionary work, and called upon teachers to carry out their duties with renewed dedication and commitment.
He further noted that there has never been a truly successful teacher who constantly seeks excuses. If teachers become negligent, students suffer first, followed by families and society as a whole, leading to serious consequences. Keeping this in mind, he encouraged teachers from this day forward to nurture and educate children into responsible citizens who will contribute positively to the Lai community and society.
