Lawngtlai, November 6, 2025: — In preparation for Hlukhla 2026, one of the most significant and celebrated festivals of the Lai community, the Organising Committee held its first meeting today at 11:30 A.M. in the Chamber of the Executive Member, Art & Culture Department.

The meeting was chaired by Pu C. Rongura, Executive Member i/c Art & Culture Department. During the session, the Committee discussed initial plans and important matters to ensure that Hlukhla 2026 is organised successfully, vibrantly, and in a grand manner that truly reflects the rich cultural heritage of the Lai people.

To make the festival more enjoyable and accessible for the public and students, it was decided that Hlukhla 2026 will be held, as in previous years, at the CYLA Playground. The event will be a two-day celebration, scheduled for February 26 and 27, 2026, featuring traditional Lai songs, dances, and various other cultural performances and activities.

The Organising Committee resolved to continue preparations with dedication so that Hlukhla 2026 becomes a remarkable event symbolizing the unity of the Lai people and showcasing the pride of their unique identity and traditions.
