LAWNGTLAI — January 30, 2026 — Today at 12:00 noon, the Hlukhla 2026 Organising Committee convened a meeting at the LADC CEM Conference Hall to deliberate on various important matters. The meeting was chaired by the Chief Executive Member (CEM), LADC, Pu C. Lalsawmzuala.

During the meeting, the Organising Secretary, Pu J. Sangthangpuia (Art & Culture Officer), presented and explained various agenda items. Discussions were also held on the proposed budget estimates to ensure the successful conduct of Hlukhla 2026.

It was decided that Hlukhla 2026 will be jointly organised by the Art & Culture Department and the Central Young Lai Association (CYLA). The planning and execution of programmes and other requirements related to this joint effort will be handled by CYLA in coordination with the concerned departments.

Hlukhla 2026 is scheduled to be held on February 27 and 28, 2026, at the CYLA Playground.

The meeting was attended by Pu K. Lalthanzara, Executive Secretary, LADC, along with representatives of various civil society organisations—CYLA, LWA, LSA, LUP—and a large number of officials.

Under the Lai Autonomous District Council (LADC), the Art & Culture Department organises Hlukhla every year with the objective of preserving and promoting Lai cultural traditions, literature, and heritage. This initiative plays a significant role in fostering community unity and safeguarding the value of Lai identity.
