Lawngtlai, 30th March, 2026:The Inter-Department Friendship Futsal Tournament 2026 was inaugurated in a grand manner today at 7:00 PM at TVJ Futsal Ground, Council Veng. The tournament is organized under the theme “Unity, Fitness and Cleanliness” and is a joint initiative of the LADC Government, District Administration, Lawngtlai, and LDFA.

The Opening Function-cum-Kickoff was chaired by Pu K. Lalthanzara, Executive Secretary, LADC. Speaking on the occasion, Chief Guest Pu Donny Lalruatsanga, Deputy Commissioner, Lawngtlai, highlighted that the combined efforts of the LADC Government and District Administration would function like a “double engine” for the development of Lawngtlai District. He expressed hope that the tournament would strengthen coordination and cooperation between State and LADC departments.

During the function, Pu C. Hrangthianga, Executive Member i/c Sports & Youth Department, LADC, expressed gratitude to all participants and conveyed his desire to make the tournament an annual event. This proposal was supported by the Deputy Commissioner, and subsequently, LADC Chief Executive Member Pu C. Lalsawmzuala officially announced that the Inter-Department Futsal Tournament would henceforth be held every year.

The inaugural ceremony was formally opened with a short devotion by Pu MC Lalrokhuma, Principal, Government Lawngtlai College. Pu Joseph Lalhmingthanga Chinzah, Assistant Secretary of the Organising Committee, presented a report on the tournament. Participating teams also took an oath of sportsmanship before Pu C. Vanlalchhuanga, Match Commissioner.

The tournament aims to promote stronger inter-departmental relations among State and LADC offices, encourage cleanliness and discipline, and foster physical fitness through sports.
