During this important visit, the Home Minister of Mizoram, Pu K. Sapdanga, and Lawngtlai Deputy Commissioner, Pu Donny Lalruatsanga, also accompanied the CEM as they inspected the proposed location and surrounding areas.

The CEM was further accompanied by other officials including Pu HC. Lalthawmliana, Executive Member in-charge of Taxation; Pu Sangthanzuala, Taxation Officer; and Pu Joseph Lalhmingthanga Chinzah, Senior Audit Officer (SAO). The plan to establish the check gate is a joint initiative between the Lai Autonomous District Council and the State Government, aimed at enhancing cross-border trade while ensuring that all activities are conducted in a safe, reliable, and lawful manner.

This initiative highlights the growing importance of Zochachhuah as a key point for trade between the region and Myanmar. The proposed taxation gate is expected to strengthen the local economy and ensure better regulation and transparency in the import and export of goods across the border.

The government also plans to further develop the area into a more established trading hub, which is expected to create new livelihood opportunities and bring additional economic benefits to the local population.
