PR No. 72/2026-2027

LAWNGTLAI, June 15, 2026: The World Blood Donor Day 2026 celebration, organized jointly by the Association for Voluntary Blood Donation (AVBD) and Kristian Thalai Pawl (KTP), Lawngtlai Pastor Bial, was held today at PCI Bazar Veng Church Hall. The Chief Guest for the occasion was C. Lalsawmzuala, Chief Executive Member (CEM) of the Lai Autonomous District Council (LADC).

In his address, the CEM highlighted that despite tremendous advances in science and technology, including significant progress in understanding the human body and achievements in space exploration, medical science has still not succeeded in creating human blood artificially. He emphasized that a single unit of blood can save a precious human life and that such lifesaving acts are made possible through the generosity and selflessness of voluntary blood donors. He further stated that voluntary blood donors provide hope and precious time to countless patients and families.

The CEM also assured that the LADC government would continue to support and collaborate with AVBD in promoting awareness about the importance and value of voluntary blood donation. He added that the Council would not hesitate to take any necessary steps within its capacity to support this cause.

The celebration was held under the theme “One Drop of Humanity: Give Blood, Save Lives.” Reports were presented by the Blood Bank, District Hospital Lawngtlai, and AVBD Lawngtlai. The event also included a special recognition ceremony honoring frequent voluntary blood donors.

Following the program, members of KTP Lawngtlai Pastor Bial participated in a blood donation drive.
