PR No. 47/2026–2027
Lawngtlai, May 16, 2026: On the night of May 15, 2026, C. Lalsawmzuala, Chief Executive Member (CEM) of the Lai Autonomous District Council, along with Lawngtlai Deputy Commissioner Donny Lalruatsanga, conducted an on-site inspection of the night-time vehicle parking system within Lawngtlai town. They were accompanied by Lalropuia Chinzah, other important officials from the Council and State Government, as well as members of the media.
This initiative was undertaken by the LADC government to address the issue of vehicles being parked along roadsides during the night, causing obstruction. During the inspection, it was observed that the “Village Level Parking Management Committees” formed in each locality had carried out their responsibilities effectively, as there were no improperly parked vehicles seen along the roads in the town that night. Local leaders have been consistently enforcing these regulations, and those violating the rules are being fined according to Council government regulations.
Speaking on the initiative, CEM Pu C. Lalsawmzuala stated:
“This initiative is not intended to impose burdens on the public, but rather to improve the appearance of our town and ensure greater public safety through better management.”
He also expressed heartfelt gratitude to the public for their sincere cooperation and compliance with the government’s initiative.
Deputy Commissioner Pu Donny Lalruatsanga also remarked that it was encouraging to see Lawngtlai town beginning to take on a new appearance within a short period due to the people’s discipline and adherence to the rules. He further highlighted that the active participation of the LADC, State Government, NGOs, and the public under the “Stand Up Lawngtlai” initiative was highly commendable.
