Lawngtlai, April 15, 2026: A Felicitation Programme celebrating the achievement of targets for Multi-Purpose Primary Agriculture Credit Societies (MPACS) was held today at 11:00 AM at the NABARD Office, MINECO, Aizawl. The programme was attended by Pu K. Lalthanzara, Executive Secretary, Lai Autonomous District Council (LADC), who highlighted various developmental initiatives undertaken within LADC areas.
In his address, Pu K. Lalthanzara spoke about the current status of Cooperative Societies under LADC and the steps being taken to strengthen and expand them. He expressed satisfaction that, against the target of establishing 119 MPACS across Mizoram, as many as 142 applications had been received. He noted that this progress is encouraging and is expected to open new avenues for farmers and various community groups, particularly in rural areas.
The programme was organized by the NABARD Mizoram Regional Office to recognize achievements made during February and March 2026. It was highlighted that this success was largely due to the dedicated efforts of Resource Persons, District Cooperation Offices (DCO), and Chief Agriculture Offices (CAO).
Shri Udit Prakash Rai, Secretary & Commissioner, Cooperation Department, Government of Mizoram, graced the occasion as Chief Guest. The event was also attended by senior officials from the Cooperation Department and Resource Persons from different regions.
NABARD reiterated its commitment to working closely with LADC and various districts to promote accessible and reliable credit and financial systems through MPACS, aimed at supporting farmers, small entrepreneurs, and rural livelihoods.
