Lawngtlai, November 5, 2025 – The Lai Autonomous District Council (LADC) has successfully signed a new Deed of Agreement for the establishment of a Lai Students’ Hostel in Shillong, Meghalaya. This agreement was executed under the initiative of the General Administration & Control Department (GAD) of LADC, with Pu H.C. Vanlalruatpuia, Joint Secretary (GAD), signing the document on behalf of LADC.

On November 4, 2025, the Deed of Agreement for a house located at Dong Madan, Lapalang, Shillong was signed for a period of three years. The hostel is intended to accommodate Lai students and young people residing in Shillong. It aims to provide a safe and stable residence for students who often face difficulties in finding accommodation and ensuring their well-being while pursuing higher studies away from home.

For the signing of the new Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) of the Lai Students’ Hostel, Shillong, Pu H.C. Vanlalruatpuia (Joint Secretary), along with Pu St. Ramhmachhuanmawia (Judicial Officer) and Pu John Hlondo (Judicial Officer), represented LADC in Shillong.
