Lawngtlai, 19th April 2025:  

On April 19, 2025, Pu V. Zathanga, Executive Member of the Disaster Management & Rehabilitation Department under the Lai Autonomous District Council (LADC), visited R. Vanhne village to offer assistance to a household affected by a recent fire.

The incident occurred around 11:00 AM during the Good Friday service on April 18, 2025, when a fire completely destroyed the Assam-type house of Pu Ramsanga in R. Vanhne village, leaving nothing salvageable.

Expressing deep concern over the tragic loss, Pu V. Zathanga offered words of encouragement to Pu Ramsanga and assured him of continued support in his recovery. On behalf of the LADC, he extended immediate financial relief of Rs. 10,000/-, an additional Rs. 3,000/- as a contribution from the Young Lai Association (YLA) for communal support, along with Silpouline (essential materials).

Pu K. Hre Kung, Executive Member in charge of Primary School Education, also accompanied the visit and expressed his solidarity. A heartfelt gathering was held in cooperation with members of the R. Vanhne Village Council and the YLA.
