PR.No.113/2024-2025.

Lawngtlai, January 14, 2025:  Today, the employees of the Lai Autonomous District Council (LADC) held New Year inauguration events at various locations, including the LADC Headquarters, Sub-HQ, and other divisions. The main event at the LADC Headquarters in Lawngtlai was led by Pu C. Lalmuanthanga, Chief Executive Member (CEM) of LADC.

In his address, Pu C. Lalmuanthanga extended his greetings and gratitude to Pu VL. Hmuaka, Chairman of LADC, Executive Members, Members of District Council (MDCs), officers, staff, and all media personnel present at the New Year inauguration. He stated:

"With God’s guidance and the support of the people, I assumed office as CEM on May 14, 2024, followed by the appointment of Executive Members on May 30, 2024. Since then, our administration has been functioning steadily. Today marks the 246th day of my tenure, and I extend my heartfelt thanks to all my colleagues and staff for their cooperation and hard work."

He also acknowledged the financial challenges faced by the LADC, noting that over 90% of the budget is allocated to salaries and administrative expenses, leaving minimal funds for developmental projects. Despite this, he emphasized the prudent management of resources, guided by the principle *"Sem sem dam dam, ei bil thi thi"* (equitable distribution and judicious use).

Pu VL. Hmuaka, Chairman of LADC, also addressed the gathering. He stated:

"We are deeply grateful to God for blessing us with this land and community. As stewards of this region, it is our responsibility to ensure its protection and prosperity. I urge all LADC officers and employees to work with dedication and integrity. Let us remain committed to fulfilling our duties and contributing to the development of our land. May God guide us as we continue to serve our people."

The event was chaired by *Pu K. Lalthanzara, Executive Secretary of LADC, and included reflections on the achievements of 2024. A special prayer session was conducted by **Rev. A. Khawlrimawia*, who prayed for blessings and guidance for the new year.
