Lawngtlai, January 16, 2025:  The Lai Autonomous District Council (LADC) will celebrate the Hlukhla Festival from February 28 to March 1, 2025. In preparation for the event, the Hlukhla Puai Organising Committee, chaired by Pu C. Rongura, Executive Member (Art & Culture Department), held its second meeting to discuss key arrangements.  

The festival aims to showcase and promote the rich culture and heritage of the Lai people through diverse programs designed to inspire unity and pride among the community. The proposed venue for the event is the CYLA Playground, and the festival theme has been decided as “Unity Among the Lai People” or “Lai Culture in Harmony.”  

On the first day of the festival, the Chief Guest will be Pu C. Lalmuanthanga, Chief Executive Member of LADC, while the second day will feature Pu VL. Hmuaka, Chairman of LADC, as the Chief Guest. Pu C. Rongura, Executive Member (Art & Culture Department), will officiate as the event’s host. To ensure community participation, the public is encouraged to contribute traditional performances or exhibits that reflect the unique identity of the Lai people.  

The meeting, chaired by Pu C. Rongura, saw active participation from the Organising Committee members, who are working diligently to ensure the success of the festival.
