PR No. 62/2026–2027
Lawngtlai, May 24, 2026.On May 23, 2026, Pu C. Lalmuanthanga attended as the chief guest a felicitation programme organized by the Lai Students’ Association General Headquarters, Lawngtlai, to honour outstanding students and successful candidates from Lawngtlai District who had passed examinations conducted by the Mizoram Public Service Commission.
In his address, Pu C. Lalmuanthanga expressed his appreciation to the LSA for organizing such a meaningful and prestigious programme. He stated that the Lai community now has many educated young people, and that beyond producing MCS officers, the community should also aspire to produce IAS officers. He encouraged students to pursue this goal with determination and confidence, saying there is no reason why Lai youths cannot become IAS officers if they work hard with clear purpose and dedication.
He urged students and student organizations to actively take up this challenge and assured that the Council would extend maximum possible support to those who qualify in the preliminary examinations.
He further emphasized that education should not be pursued merely for passing exams, but for acquiring genuine knowledge and skills. According to him, students should strive not only for good results but also for true competence and personal growth. He encouraged students to read widely beyond textbooks, including books that contribute to development and progress. He also stressed the importance of having clear goals and working hard to excel in one’s chosen field, saying that today’s world demands specialization and excellence for true success.
Pu C. Lalmuanthanga advised students not to seek success only for personal recognition in society or the church, but to become useful and responsible citizens who contribute positively to the welfare of the community and society. He reminded them never to forget their Lai identity wherever they may go or whatever success they may achieve. He encouraged them to work with courage, dedication, and perseverance for the honour and progress of their people.
He also congratulated the newly successful MCS and MES candidates, saying that the community is proud of them and will continue to need their service in the future. He expressed hope that the Lai Students’ Association would continue to remain a respected and politically neutral organization, serving students faithfully and effectively.
The programme was chaired by Z. Lalhriatsanga. K. Lalhuliana delivered an address of encouragement, while Matthew Lalhumliana Fanchun presented the report. Special songs were also performed during the event. The vote of thanks was delivered by Nathan Chatuanhlamawia.
