PR No. 42/2026–2027

Lawngtlai, May 14, 2026: A significant meeting to discuss the observance of “Green LADC Day 2026” was held today at 11:00 AM in the Conference Hall of the CEM, LADC, under the chairmanship of the Chief Executive Member of LADC, Pu C. Lalsawmzuala. During the meeting, it was decided that Green LADC Day 2026 will be observed on June 5, 2026 (Friday).

In his address, Pu C. Lalsawmzuala, CEM, stated that Green LADC Day has been observed since July 24, 2014, and that a total of 3,428 saplings have been planted so far. Regarding this year’s programme, he urged the members to give careful thought and to freely suggest new and improved ideas for better implementation.

Pu HC. Lalengkima, Executive Member (Forest), expressed gratitude to the participants and said that it is encouraging that Green LADC Day continues to be observed regularly. He reminded all officers of various departments and committee members that everyone shares responsibility in properly maintaining the planted trees, emphasizing that ensuring the survival and growth of the saplings is even more important than merely planting them. Pu K. Lalromawia, DCCF and Member Secretary, reported that most of the previously planted trees are growing well, and any saplings that die are continuously being replaced and maintained.

The meeting also finalized various arrangements for the observance of Green LADC Day. The Opening Ceremony will be held at the LADC Complex and will be chaired by Pu K. Lalthanzara, Executive Secretary, LADC, while Pu HC. Lalengkima, EM (Forest), will attend as the Chief Guest. The tree plantation site has been selected near NH-02 (Siaha Road), close to Lawngtlai. The Forest Department will be responsible for arranging the saplings, protective fencing, site preparation, and other necessary requirements.

The meeting further approved revisions to the preliminary arrangements for departmental coordination on the day, and each department will independently arrange its own refreshments. The Information & Public Relations Department is expected to handle sound system arrangements and video coverage.
