Lawngtlai, March 19, 2026:Today, Pu Thangkhokai Haokip, Assistant Manager of NABARD, Mizoram, visited the Cooperation Department, LADC. He was received by Pu Joseph Lalhmingthanga Chinzah, Deputy Registrar of Cooperative Societies (DRCS), LADC. They also held a meeting to explore ways to strengthen cooperation and collaboration.

During the meeting, Pu Haokip explained the purpose of his visit, stating that an Awareness and Expansion Drive is currently being carried out across Mizoram to establish and strengthen Multipurpose Primary Agricultural Credit Societies (MPACS), in line with the vision of the Ministry of Cooperation, Government of India. In Lawngtlai District as well, initiatives are being implemented through NABARD in collaboration with the Mizoram Cooperative Apex Bank Ltd.

Key points highlighted about MPACS:

1. It is registered under the Mizoram Cooperative Societies Act and established for farmers.

2. It facilitates access to credit and various benefits to help farmers increase agricultural production.

3. It provides a safe and reliable platform for farmers to save their earnings.

Pu Haokip also expressed his desire to enhance collaboration with the LADC Cooperation Department.

Pu Joseph Lalhmingthanga Chinzah, DRCS, in his remarks, stated that efforts are being made by LADC leadership to strengthen the Cooperation Department as required. He expressed hope for continued strong cooperation and mentioned that the matters discussed with NABARD would be communicated to LADC leaders. He also emphasized their intention to further motivate and support members of Cooperative Societies.

During the visit, Pu Haokip was accompanied by Pi Lalhruaichhungi, Resource Person, Mizoram Apex Bank Ltd.
