Lawngtlai, Aug. 19, 2024 at 3:00 p.m., Pu C. Lalmuanthanga, Chief Executive Member (CEM) of the Lai Autonomous District Council (LADC), held a press conference at his office chamber. The press conference covered the recent meeting of the North East Autonomous District Councils, which took place in Shillong On August 10, 2024. This meeting brought together 10 Autonomous District Councils (ADC) and involved discussions on key issues and updates, including a report on the activities and future plans of these councils. Union Home Minister's presence and input were also highlighted.

Following the press conference, Pu H. Lalmuansanga, Deputy Chairman, presented a detailed report. The meeting revealed the significant role of the ADCs in addressing regional challenges and enhancing coordination among the councils. Specific discussions included issues related to the Khasi Hills Council and the future of ADCs in the region.

The conference emphasized the need for continued efforts in improving the functioning of ADCs and addressing regional issues effectively. It also noted that while political changes may occur, the primary goal remains to enhance governance and infrastructure in the North East region.

Pu HC. Lalthawmliana, EM, emphasized that the meeting was crucial for understanding the current challenges and opportunities for the ADCs, and stressed the importance of addressing these issues for the development of the region.

Pu C. Lalmuanthanga, CEM, concluded the press conference by acknowledging the ongoing efforts and the need for continuous improvement in ADC operations. He highlighted the commitment to addressing various issues through cultural exchange and collaborative efforts.
