Lawngtlai, December 17, 2024 – Pu Andrew Laltlanzara, Executive Member (EM) of LADC, officiated as the chief guest at the Platinum Jubilee (75th anniversary) celebration of Chawngte 'P' yesterday. The event, which brought together the local community and dignitaries, was marked by joyous festivities and a reflection on the village's history and achievements.  

In his address, Pu Andrew Laltlanzara expressed his gratitude to the Jubilee Celebration Committee for their efforts in organizing the event. He extended special thanks to *Pu C. Ngunlianchunga, MLA of Lawngtlai West*, who also attended as a guest of honor, and to the people of Chawngte 'P' for their active participation. Reflecting on the history of Chawngte 'P', he praised its founder, Pu Kuaichika, for his dedication and vision. Despite facing hardships, Pu Kuaichika’s legacy continues to inspire the community. The EM also urged the residents to honor the contributions of past leaders and to remember their sacrifices, emphasizing the importance of preserving their values and unity.  

Pu Andrew Laltlanzara acknowledged the community's collective efforts to achieve progress and development. He highlighted the basketball court, constructed with government support, as a symbol of their achievements and urged the community to maintain and care for public properties with dedication and love.  

Turning his focus to education and youth, Pu Andrew emphasized the importance of quality education and moral development among students. He called for greater efforts to prepare the youth for future challenges, urging them to pursue excellence and maintain the harmony and cleanliness of their community. He expressed his hope that the Jubilee celebration would inspire a renewed sense of purpose and determination for the residents. 

Recognizing Chawngte's unique status as a meeting point for people of various communities and its strategic location among three districts, Pu Andrew called for greater unity and mutual understanding. He urged the youth to focus on self-reliance and avoid actions that disrupt the peace of their families and community. Stressing the importance of working together for the village’s progress, he appealed to the people to embrace responsibility and take collective action for the betterment of society.  

Concluding his speech, Pu Andrew encouraged the people of Chawngte to celebrate the Jubilee with joy and gratitude, while looking ahead to the Centenary (100th anniversary) with hope and determination. He prayed for the community's continued health, prosperity, and divine guidance.
