Lawngtlai, August 30, 2024 : On August 29, 2024, at 2:00 p.m., Pu C. Lalmuanthanga, Chief Executive Member of the Lai Autonomous District Council (LADC), convened a significant meeting with representatives from various road construction companies, including NHIDCL, ABCI, and PMPL. Key issues concerning road construction in the LADC area were discussed.

Pu C. Lalmuanthanga emphasized the importance of these companies fulfilling their commitments and working effectively, as delays or inadequate work affect the local population. He stressed the need for timely and quality execution of projects to improve connectivity and service for the people.

Pu Laltlawmlova Chinzah, Vice Chairman of Planning & Development, addressed the CSR (Corporate Social Responsibility) policies of the companies. He noted that while CSR policies are in place, the execution and effectiveness of these policies need improvement. He highlighted that companies should increase their engagement with NGOs and local bodies like CYLA to enhance their CSR impact. Additionally, CSR funds should be effectively utilized to support LADC’s development efforts and respond to local needs, including Covid relief efforts and providing ambulances.

Pu Laltlawmlova Chinzah also mentioned the importance of companies being proactive in addressing local needs and improving their CSR activities to better serve the community.

The meeting concluded with a call for ongoing diligence and improvement in project execution and CSR activities to meet the needs of the Lai District and its people.
