PR No. 7/2026–2027
Lawngtlai | April 10, 2026 Today, the Chairman of the Lai Autonomous District Council (LADC), Pu C. Lalmuanthanga, met the Governor of Mizoram, General (Dr.) Vijay Kumar Singh (Retd.), at Lok Bhavan to discuss various important matters concerning the development and administration of the District Council.
During the meeting, the Chairman highlighted that several laws passed by the LADC Session under its legislative authority have already been submitted to higher authorities for approval but are yet to be finalized for implementation. He expressed concern that delays in enforcing these laws not only undermine the authority of the Council but also create difficulties for the public.
Pu C. Lalmuanthanga specifically submitted and requested expedited action on the following Rules and Bills:
1. The LADC Engineering Service Rules, 2022
2. The LADC Sport & Youth Services Department (Group A, B & C Technical Recruitment Rules), 2022
3. The LADC Education & Human Resources (Group B & D) Recruitment (First Amendment) Rules, 2022 (Re-submitted)
4. The LADC (Marriage and Divorce) (First Amendment) Bill, 2026
He emphasized that these legislations are crucial, particularly for recruitment processes and for the welfare of the general public.
The Governor gave due importance to the matters presented and assured that necessary steps would be taken to follow them up at the earliest.
