Lawngtlai, November 6, 2025: Today, November 6, 2025, Pu C. Lalsawmzuala, Executive Member i/c Law & Judicial Department, Lai Autonomous District Council (LADC), inaugurated the Intermediate District Council Court at Bualpui ‘NG’. This newly established Court is expected to bring justice closer and more conveniently to the people living in the northern part of the region.
The inauguration programme was chaired by Pu K. Lalthanzara, Executive Secretary, LADC. The dedication prayer was offered by Rev. Khawlrimawia, LIKBK, Bualpui ‘NG’. Pu K. Lalchhankima, Senior Judicial Officer, LADC, also highlighted important aspects of the department’s initiatives and objectives.
In his address, Chief Guest Pu C. Lalsawmzuala, EM, expressed his happiness over the inauguration of the Intermediate District Council Court at Bualpui ‘NG’. Quoting Pu N. Zangura, Chief Executive Member, he stated that the LADC Government remains committed to continually advancing the welfare and development of the Lai people and their land. He mentioned that this Court, serving from Pangkhua to Lungzarhṭum, is expected to provide great convenience for the people of the northern region who no longer need to travel all the way to Lawngtlai for judicial matters. The Court will handle criminal cases, civil disputes, land issues, and marital conflicts, ensuring “accessible, efficient, and fair justice for all.”
He further emphasized that the recruitment of staff was conducted transparently and fairly, with no political party or individual family interference involved in the process. He expressed confidence that the well-trained officers will diligently carry out their duties. Pu Lalsawmzuala noted that this inauguration marks only the beginning, and that in the near future, more judicial administrative works and services will be introduced. He conveyed that the success of the Court will depend on the cooperation of local residents and people from the northern region, and he extended his gratitude to the MDCs and officials who worked hard to make this establishment possible.
The inauguration programme was attended by Pu L. Daniala, Executive Member; Pu JB Vanhoy, Deputy Chairman; Pu Lalzahawma, MDC; Pu K. Lalthanzara, Executive Secretary; Pu K. Lalchhankima, Court President & Recorder, LADC; and leaders of various political parties.
