Lawngtlai, August 20th, 2025 – Today at 11:00 a.m., Pu Lalthanmawia Colney, MDC, was sworn-in as the Protem Chairman of the Lai Autonomous District Council (LADC). Pu David Lalrinawma, Additional Deputy Commissioner, Lawngtlai administered the oath of office. Pu Lianchungnunga, Secretary of the District Council Secretariat, LADC, read out the appointment letter issued by the Hon’ble Governor of Mizoram under the DC&MA, appointing him as the Protem Chairman. Pu Lalthanmawia Colney then proceeded to take the oath.
After taking the oath, Pu Lalthanmawia Colney took the office of the LADC Chairman’s Room. During this occasion, he addressed the attendees, expressing his commitment to serve diligently as Protem Chairman. He emphasized the importance of effective governance and requested that members would work sincerely to support the government’s efforts. He urged all members to cooperate wholeheartedly for the smooth functioning of the council.
Pu Lalthanmawia Colney is one of the nominated members of the 11th Lai Autonomous District Council. Upon occupying the Chairman’s Room, he was accompanied by the MDCs and party leaders.
