Lawngtlai, August 6, 2024: On August 5, Pu Sanghuliana Mualchin, EM in charge of the Taxation Department, met with Private School Principals to discuss various issues.

Pu Sanghuliana Mualchin stated that the primary issue discussed was the matter of Professional Tax. Due to the impacts of Covid-19, the collection of this tax had been significantly affected, and there has been a delay in enforcement. He emphasized the need to address these challenges urgently and improve compliance. He also pointed out that the Taxation Department needs to enhance its efforts to ensure proper tax collection and address issues faced by taxpayers.

Additionally, Pu Sanghuliana Mualchin discussed the importance of private schools and their role in the education sector. He stressed the need for better quality in education and the implementation of effective teaching methods. He noted that private schools are crucial for providing good results and contributing positively to the community.

In the meeting, Pi Hrangthanmawii, Elementary Education Officer for Primary Schools, and Pu C. Lalrinzuala, Secretary of the LADCBSC, were also present.
