Lawngtlai, November 29, 2024: Today at 3:30 PM, Pu Sanghuliana Mualchin, Executive Member (EM) of Primary School Education, LADC, and in charge of Sports & Youth Services (SYS), presided over the Closing Function of the LADC Running Trophy Chess Championship, Mizoram Rating Tournament 2024, held from November 27–29, 2024, at the LADC Conference Hall.
In his speech, Pu Sanghuliana Mualchin expressed his appreciation for the successful organization of the Chess Championship, thanking the event coordinators and all players for their participation. He noted that the tournament drew dedicated chess players from various districts and encouraged even greater participation in future tournaments, aiming for a larger scale event next year.
The Chief Guest emphasized LADC's commitment to advancing multiple sports disciplines, including football, badminton, volleyball, boxing, shooting, and chess. Despite limited financial resources, he highlighted LADC's ongoing efforts to collaborate with various sports associations to achieve progress and success. He shared his pride in the achievements so far and assured that LADC would continue creating opportunities for sports development in the future.
He also stressed that achieving success in sports, including chess, requires discipline, determination, and strategic thinking. He described chess as a game of intellectual rigor, requiring focus, patience, and clear foresight. He encouraged participants to embrace the sport and inspire others to join, while congratulating the winners and urging everyone to remain committed to their journey in chess.
The event was chaired by Pu K. Lalsawmliana, Finance Secretary, who managed the proceedings. After the Chief Arbiter announced the results, Pu Sanghuliana Mualchin, as the Chief Guest, presented prizes to the winners.
