Lawngtlai, June 19, 2026: The Study Committee on Renaming of Geographical Features, constituted under the Lai Autonomous District Council (LADC), held its second meeting this afternoon at the LADC CEM Conference Room, where various proposals were reviewed and discussed.

The meeting was chaired by Pu K. Lalthanzara, Chairman of the Study Committee and Executive Secretary. During the meeting, members deliberated on a number of proposals seeking to rename villages, hills, rivers, and other geographical features within the jurisdiction of LADC into the Lai language.

After detailed discussions, the committee selected 15 proposals to be submitted to the Executive Committee for further consideration. Subsequent actions will be taken in accordance with the decisions and directives of the Executive Committee.
