Lawngtlai, September 4, 2025: In the afternoon today, the swearing-in ceremony of the three newly nominated Members of the Lai Autonomous District Council (LADC) took place at the LADC Chairman’s Office Chamber. Mr. V.L. Hmuaka, Chairman of LADC, administered the oath taking ceremony of the three newly appointed members by Governor of Mizoram.

Mr. Lianchungnunga, Secretary (DCS) of LADC, led the ceremony, after reading the DC&MA Secretary's appointment letter, the following individuals were officially sworn in as nominated Members: (1) Mr. Lalzahawma Chinzah, s/o C. Lianupa, Lawngtlai Bazar; (2) Ms. Lalhruaitluangi Vandir, d/o Sapliana Vandir, Lawngtlai-III; and (3) Ms. Zonunmawii, d/o K. Zamuana, M. Kawnpui.

Mr. N. Zangura, Chief Executive Member (CEM), stated in his address that with divine blessings and the government's support, they are determined to progress steadily. Requesting everyone to recognize the previous setbacks as training, he expressed confidence that the UDA government will strive to continue with their efforts, and they will move forward with strong determination. The recent appointments of the nominated MDC members come at a crucial time, filling important roles with capable and dedicated individuals. He expressed hope thet their presence will bring stability and growth, the spirit of unity and cooperation will ensure that the council’s efforts benefit the entire region.

The CEM emphasized that with sincere commitment and cooperation, they aim to promote peace and development for the welfare of the community.
