Lawngtlai, March 26, 2025: Today at 3:30 p.m., the Zotlang Forest Park (Nagar Van Yojana 2023) was inaugurated by Mr. V. Zirsanga, Chief Executive Member, LADC.

Mr. Zirsanga, the CEM of LADC, stated under the Nagar Van Yojana Scheme, launched by the Government of India in 2023, the Zotlang Forest Park was established. The main objective of this scheme is to enhance the environment, providing a clean and healthy environment of the people by preserving the forest and build a park for the purpose. He emphasized that it would not be possible to build this park through LADC funds and expressed his gratitude that a scheme like the Nagar Van Yojana scheme was established by the Government.

Mr. BN. Thangpuia, EM in charge of the EF&CC Department also gave a speech, stating that the park is built for the community and expressed his hope that it will be used to fullest and that they will continue to help the public in building a healthy environment to the best of their abilities in the future as well. The park was built using the first installment; once the second installment is received, further construction will proceed. He then thanked Chawnhu Village Council and Youth Leaders Association, for their support and help throughout the whole process of construction. He also requested community involvement as well as officers and staff under EF&CC Department to continue working for the cause to ensure environmental sustainability.

Mr. K. Lalromawia, DCCF LADC, chaired the inauguration programme. Mr. C. Sangliana, DCF, LADC, preformed a devotion and Mr. B. Lalrinmuanpuia ACF LADC presented the Technical Report and way-forward. Mr. Albert Lalrinzuala, Sr. ACF LADC delivered vote of thanks.

The event included participation from Mr. T. Zakunga, Chairman LADC, Mr. Lallawmsanga Apetow EM, Mr. LR. Dingliana Chinzah EM, Mr. T. Lalengmuana EM, Mr. BN. Thangpuia EM, Mr. L. Lalhmachhuana EM, Mr. Tuturu Singh Dy. Chief Whip, LADC, and Mr. K. Lalthanzara, Executive Secretary, LADC, along with other officials.
