Lawngtlai, January 22, 2025: A consultation meeting regarding the construction of the road connecting Electric Veng and Chandmary Veng, passing through the Helipad area, was held today at the LADC Chief Executive Member's Conference Hall. The meeting was presided over by Pu C. Lalmuanthanga, Chief Executive Member (CEM) of the Lai Autonomous District Council (LADC).
In his address, CEM Pu C. Lalmuanthanga recalled that in December 2024, discussions about the road construction between Chandmary and Electric Veng were held with Pu Laltlawmlova Chinzah, Vice Chairman of the Planning Board, officials, company representatives, community leaders from Chandmary and Electric Veng, and NGO representatives. He expressed gratitude to all involved and emphasized the desire to expedite the project by addressing any outstanding issues and conveying appreciation.
He further acknowledged the landowners in the area, stating, "The willingness of landowners to allow the road construction without demanding compensation, recognizing its importance for the community and Lawngtlai town, is commendable. On behalf of the council, I extend heartfelt gratitude." He assured that the council is aware of the landowners' sacrifices and of Land Settlement Certificates (LSCs) which need to be altered in the area in connection to this work will be re issued free of cost.
During the meeting, community leaders from Chandmary and Electric Veng, NGO representatives, and the concerned landowners discussed necessary matters. It was decided that any remaining issues would be addressed in consultation with Pu Laltlawmlova Chinzah, Vice Chairman of the Planning Board, LADC.
Pu Laltlawmlova Chinzah provided a progress report on the project, and Pu C. Lalsawmzuala, Chairman of the Town Committee, LADC, also shared remarks of appreciation and discussed necessary matters.
The meeting was attended by Pu C. Lalsawmzuala, Chairman of the Town Committee; Pu Laltlawmlova Chinzah, Vice Chairman of the Planning Board; Pu T. Lalengmuana, Member of District Council (MDC), LADC; Pu K. Lathanzara, Executive Secretary; Pu David Zothantluanga, Planning & Development Officer (P&DO); and other officials.
