Lawngtlai, November 22, 2024: The Lai Autonomous District Council (LADC) and the Mara Autonomous District Council (MADC) have reached an agreement regarding the Tuipui Ferry Wooden Bridge. The two councils held a joint meeting on November 21, 2024, at the office of the Chief Executive Member, Pu M. Laikaw, to discuss the bridge.
During the meeting, they resolved to alternate maintenance of the bridge every year, with MADC taking charge in the first year and LADC in the second year. Additionally, they agreed to collect taxes at a rate to be determined by both councils.
The meeting was attended by several important individuals, including:
1. Pu M. Laikaw, Chief Executive Member, MADC
2. Pu C. Lalmuanthanga, Chief Executive Member, LADC
3. Pu S. Lalemthanga, Deputy Chief Executive Member, MADC
4. Pi. L. Prisila, Executive Member, MADC
5. Pu C. Rongura, Executive Member, LADC
6. Pu N. Zakhai, Adviser to CEM, MADC
This agreement will be implemented starting in 2024, with MADC taking the lead in the first year.
