Lawngtlai, February 10, 2025: Today, Pu Lalropuia Chinzah, Executive Member in charge of the Information & Public Relations (I&PR) Department, LADC, officially launched the LADC Press Regulation and Accreditation, formulated by the I&PR Department, and handed it over to media representatives.
In his speech, Executive Member Pu Lalropuia Chinzah stated that, until recently, the *LADC government had been dependent on various newspapers for advertisements and subscriptions, following the **State Government’s Press Regulation. Now, with the formulation of its own Press Regulation and Accreditation, LADC has achieved an important milestone. He expressed his deep appreciation to the staff of the I&PR Department for their efforts in making this possible.
Pu K. Lalthanzara, Executive Secretary, LADC, also spoke at the event. He praised the I&PR Department for successfully formulating the Press Regulation and Accreditation, which will now be used by the LADC government. He noted that such a regulation had not been in place in the past and that having an official and well-structured press policy marks a significant step forward. He further explained that the regulation was drafted as a Bill, approved in an Executive Committee session, and implemented through an Office Memorandum. He expressed his satisfaction that the policy is now in effect and looked forward to better collaboration with the media in the future.
The event was well attended by journalists and media representatives. Pu Elvis Lalthangzuala, President of the Mizoram Journalists’ Association (MJA), remarked that it was commendable that LADC had successfully introduced a comprehensive Press Regulation and Accreditation policy, something that even the State Government has not yet implemented. He described this as a major development for LADC and emphasized its importance in promoting transparency and effective media-government relations. Other media representatives also shared their views during the event.
The event was chaired by Pu C. Lawmsangzuala, Information & Public Relations Officer (I&PRO), LADC, and concluded with the official handover of the Press Regulation and Accreditation Office Memorandum by Pu Lalropuia Chinzah, Executive Member, LADC.
