Lawngtlai, November 7, 2024: The one-day celebration of the YLA Golden Jubilee, marked by cultural and choir competitions, was held today at the CYLA Hall, Lawngtlai-III, with the esteemed presence of Pu C. Rongura, Executive Member of the Art & Culture Department, LADC, as the Chief Guest.

In his address, Pu C. Rongura expressed his gratitude and happiness at being part of this significant event, extending heartfelt congratulations on the 50th anniversary of the CYLA. He urged all participants to celebrate this Golden Jubilee with enthusiasm and encouraged preserving and promoting their unique cultural heritage. "It is essential to showcase our culture not only within our community but to the broader Indian society, where diverse ethnicities and languages coexist," he remarked, highlighting the importance of cultural preservation and continuity.

He further emphasized the role of the Youth Lai Association (YLA) members in safeguarding and promoting their cultural identity, with continued efforts from the LADC in advancing archives, museums, and libraries for preserving their cultural heritage.

Pu F. Lalrothanga, Vice President of YLA, also spoke on the occasion, calling for unity and collective effort among YLA members in celebrating this Golden Jubilee.

The cultural program, organized by the CYLA Art & Culture Committee, included competitions in traditional dances like Chawnglaizawn, Sarlamkai, and Rawkhathlak, with a choir competition scheduled for the evening.

The event was attended by prominent guests including Pu Lalthanmawia Colney, Deputy Chief Whip, LADC, and Pu H. Lalhmingmawia, Member of the Planning & Development Board, LADC.

The celebration was coordinated by Pu EZ. Lalnuntluanga, Secretary of the CYLA Art & Culture Committee, with Rev. Lalropeka Chinzah leading the invocation prayer.
