Lawngtlai, July 8, 2024: At 10:30 AM today, the 11th Lai Autonomous District Council Emergency Session was held. The session was chaired by Pu VL. Hmuaka, Chairman, LADC, and paid tribute to late Pu VL. Hminga, Ex-MDC, who passed away on November 22, 2023.

Pu C. Lalmuanthanga, Chief Executive Member (CEM), LADC, delivered a condolence speech, praising Pu VL. Hminga's contributions to the society and the council. He said, "We are deeply saddened by the passing of Pu VL. Hminga, Ex-MDC. His family is a respected and esteemed family in our society. He served as Deputy Commissioner in Lawngtlai in 2011 and was a dedicated public servant. After his retirement, he was elected as MDC from Paithar Constituency in 2002 and served as Executive Member in the Revenue Department. Today, we gather to pay our respects to his memory and offer our condolences to his family. May God comfort them in their grief."

The session also introduced the Lai Autonomous District Council Budget for 2024-2025 and the Lai Autonomous District Council (Constitution, Conduct of Business, etc) (Fifth Amendment) Bill, 2024. The session was adjourned until July 9, 2024, at 10:30 AM.
