In his address, Pu C. Lalsawmzuala expressed his pleasure at being invited as the Chief Guest to this important occasion organised by the Lai Students’ Association, Sub-Headquarters Shillong.
He urged the students to work hard and give the highest priority to their education. He emphasised that students should not seek shortcuts in their academic pursuits but should instead develop their knowledge, skills and wisdom with clear goals, ensuring that their education would be useful and beneficial to their community and the Lai people.
He highlighted the growing need for candidates from the region to enter the Central Services and the Mizoram Civil Services. He expressed his confidence that students studying today could achieve these goals if they were determined and willing to work hard.

Pu Lalzahawma Chinzah, the Guest of Honour, also addressed the gathering. He praised the students for their high level of knowledge and abilities but pointed out that the LADC government would not be able to provide employment to every educated student.
Therefore, he encouraged all students to prepare themselves for competitive examinations and other career opportunities. He emphasised that the efforts and sacrifices they made in their studies should ultimately benefit not only themselves but also their families, their region and the Lai community. He urged them to think creatively, develop new ideas and work towards a brighter future.
